Wandsworth Lofts: Our 8 step attic extension process
We don’t try to blind you with science or bog you down in technical jargon. Weprovide a simple explanation of our roof refurbishment process. Of course if you would like further information on our process, we are more than happy to go into greater detail. At your convenience.
1. Free consultation and quote
We meet your family and take a look at what is under your roof. You describe your vision and expectations. We share our gallery of completed projects.
2. Design and draw plans
Our experts get cracking on designing your new construction and draw up the plans for it.
3. Prepare and begin construction
Alarmed scaffolding is set up in preparation for your roof renovation. We create a gap in your roof. By doing most of our work via this gap you experience the least inconvenience possible. The gap is covered at night, so no need to worry about burglars or bad weather. This gap will remain in place for around 3 weeks.
Materials begin to arrive. Your floor joist is laid
4. First inspection of new construction
5. Completion of shell
Once the floor joist is approved the shell quickly goes up. We make internal partitions. At this stage the shell is insulated.
6. Second inspection of roof refurbishment
7. Remaining work completed
Now it’s time to proceed with tiling, roofing and guttering. All remaining external work is also finished. Electric cables for lights and sockets are laid. At this stage of the process windows go in. Doors and frames are fitted. Internal rooms are ready for partitioning and plastering. We lay your flooring, fireproof the construction and check the guttering is up to the job.
8. Completion Certificate is issued
A final building inspection occurs. After the final inspection you will be issued with a Completion Certificate and a Part P certificate.
The Completion Certificate is your proof that your attic extension is safe and meets local building regulations.
The Part P Certificate proves that electrical work in your attic extension meets safety standards.
You move in. We move on
Our work is now finished. It’s time for you to take over. Furnish your new room to your taste and personalise it however you like.
We leave you with the reassurance of our 10 year guarantee.
